The Ancient Egyptians first recognised the therapeutic benefits of bathing in warm water
around 200 BC, by about 500 BC, the Ancient Greeks began to understand the properties
and benefits of hydrotherapy (literally “water therapy”, derived from the Greek words
hydro and therapeia). In particular, Hippocrates.  The Greek physician, recommended
hydrotherapy as a treatment for medical conditions such as jaundice and rheumatism.

The development of hydrotherapy continued throughout the ages.
The Romans enhanced the practice by Massaging oils into the skin prior to bathing.
Today, hydrotherapy is most commonly understood to mean the treatment of illness
through the use of water.The concept of hydrotherapy is to rid the body of toxins that
may be causing  joint pain and inflammation. Water healing is one of the oldest and
safest methods of treatment.
